American artist Edward Hopper created this intimate New York Interior painting in 1921.  New York Interior features the back of a young woman sewing a length of cloudy fabric spread out over her lap in a New York apartment. The voyeuristic scene, eloquently framed by the window, shows us a glimpse of modern urban life in early 1920's New York.  The woman's clothing suggests she may be a ballerina or dancer, reminiscent of Edgar Degas's iconic French ballet dancer themed paintings. Hopper's ability to create a fleeting glimpse of modern day America with this New York Interior art print attests to his masterful collaboration of a relatable scene and rhythmic colour palette.

This art print is printed on premium museum grade paper and is paired with archival inks for a superior finish.

- Acid and lignin free, 325gsm heavy weighted paper

High performing archival inks for precise colour contrast and vivid colour

100% cotton rag with a natural white, enhanced matte finish

Sharp image resolution and fade resistant colour pigments

Printing on this archival paper using our high calibre archival inks results in a stunning art print that is unrivalled in quality and price.

If you choose to frame your art with us - feel safe in the knowledge that we collaborate with an expert framer, who delivers quality custom frames and has been in the framing business for over 20 years.

You will find that our framing costs are more reasonable than your local framer, due to our business being purely online.

Being online means we have lower overheads than a typical art and framing business which provides us the opportunity to pass those savings onto you, without losing any of the quality or craftsmanship of an experienced framer. All of our frames are custom made using sustainably sourced wood and we use glass not perspex in our frames.

We also offer three popular finishes of black, white and natural timber. All of our frames have a smooth, matte finish and have a solid structure with classic design elements that do not disappoint. You will find that a large amount of our art is encompassed by an approx. 5cm white border around the main image. We have done this to minimise additional costs associated with mat boards, which we do not supply as part of our framing process.

Once you have placed your order, your frame will take on average between 7 - 10 business days to make and 24hrs to securely pack and get ready to ship to your desired destination.

The Artist

EDWARD HOPPER

EDWARD HOPPER

Edward Hopper (1882 - 1967) was a celebrated American realist painter and printmaker.  While he is widely known for his oil paintings, he was equally proficient as a watercolorist and printmaker in etching.

No other artist at the time, managed to capture the solitude within the modern city like Edward Hopper. The ‘artist of empty spaces’ offers a look at life of Americans during World War I. Hopper depicted the spirit of the time very subtly, showing it in the poses of characters, in the vast empty spaces around them and also in his harmonious colour palettes of the era.

Hopper's influence on the art world and pop culture is undeniable, most notably his most recognisable 'Nighthawks' painting being referred to in movies, television, music and literature, still to this day.
