Street artist Banksy, created Lizzy Stardust in Bristol, England in 2012.  Like many artists best works, the success lies in the simplicity, which Banksy has rendered in black, red and blue. As part of the upcoming Queens Diamond Jubilee in 2012, the anonymous Banksy created Lizzy Stardust an iconic tribute to both singer, David Bowie and Queen Elizabeth II.  Lizzy Stardust dons the recognisable jagged blue and red stripe of the popular Bowie 70's creation Ziggy Stardust. A famous duo blended together by a legendary street artist makes this Lizzy Stardust an iconic pop culture art print.

This art print is printed on premium gallery grade paper and is paired with archival inks for a superior finish.

        The Artist

        BANKSY

        BANKSY

Banksy is an anonymous Bristol, England based street artist, political activist and film director, active since the 1990s.

His satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine irreverent wit executed in his trademark graffiti stencilling technique.  Banksy's works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, bridges of cities and art displays throughout the world.  Gaining notoriety through a range of urban stages by modifying street signs to illegally hanging his own art in institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Louvre.

Leaving his mark on cities with his signature parachuting rat and paying homage to Queen Elizabeth (during her jubilee celebrations) to graffitiing “We’re bored of fish” above a penguins’ zoo enclosure, Banksy creates street art with humour and satire with a international reputation that precedes his anonymous identity. Most often using spray paint and stencils, Banksy has created a famous signature, immediately identifiable graphic style with a recurring cast of celebrities, soldiers, cops and children through which he critically examines current issues of political authority, consumerism and the status of art.
